Cheetahs veteran brings up Currie Cup milestone

Cape Town - Free State Cheetahs coach Daan Human has named his team for Friday’s Currie Cup encounter against the Blue Bulls in Bloemfontein.

Kick-off is at 18:00.

The game will be played as a curtain raiser to the PRO14 match between the Cheetahs and Scottish side Glasgow Warriors, which begins at 20:35.

Two Cheetahs stalwarts will reach milestones in this games, with wing JW Jonker playing his 100th Currie Cup game and fullback Clayton Blommetjies playing the 50th Currie Cup match of his career.

Jonker made his debut for the Free State Cheetahs in 2006 and has played 53 Currie Cup matches for the Bloemfontein side, but also represented the Griffons, Pumas and Griquas in the Currie Cup.
