Ungerer to miss Sharks clash

Nelspruit - Pumas coach Brent Janse van Rensburg has named his team for Friday’s Currie Cup clash against the Sharks at Mbombela Stadium (17:00 kick-off).

The Pumas suffered a setback with scrumhalf Stefan Ungerer unable to face his former team.

Ungerer has joined another former Shark, loose forward Francois Kleinhans, on the sidelines with concussion, while fullback Gerrit Smith also sits out.

Stalwart Reynier van Rooyen will start at No 9, with Justin van Staden returning to the starting XV, this time in the No 15 jersey.

Van Rooyen was on the bench both times when the Pumas defeated the Sharks at Mbombela Stadium in 2014 and 2015.

The only other survivors from those teams are Van Staden, centre Jerome Pretorius, hooker Frankie Herne and prop De-Jay Terblanche.

Terblanche will be representing the Pumas for the 170th time. He replaces Kwezi Mona in the starting XV, while lock Cameron Lindsay starts for the first time.

Flyhalf Sias Ebersohn returns to the bench along with scrumhalf Theo Mare, who is on loan from the Blue Bulls.
