Senatla not joining Lions - agent

Cape Town - Seabelo Senatla’s agent has dismissed reports that the speedster will join the Golden Lions.

A recent report indicated that Western Province were trying to fend off interest for the winger, with the Lions interested in luring him to Johannesburg.

“Seabelo has not signed a new contract, but he’s definitely not going to the Lions,” his agent Stephan Weyers told Netwerk24.

Senatla's Sevens commitments means he hasn't played lots of 15-man rugby in recent years and he’ll likely only be available for Western Province in about six weeks’ time, having injured his wrist while representing the Springbok Sevens team at the Rio Olympic Games.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
