Scarra set to make return for WP

Cape Town - Western Province hooker Scarra Ntubeni is set to make his return to action after a long injury layoff.

Ntubeni, 26, has been sidelined since last September due to an Achilles injury but looks likely to return to action in the Currie Cup this weekend.

Western Province coach John Dobson told Netwerk24 that Ntubeni is fit and will be included in the 22-man squad for Sunday’s clash against the Free State Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.

With the Stormers now out of Super Rugby, Dobson said fitness tests would determine which players are ready to be picked for WP.

WP had a bye in last weekend’s first round of action, while Free State will be confident after thumping the Sharks 47-12 in Bloemfontein.

Sunday’s clash at Free State Stadium is scheduled for 14:30.
