Roll of honour: Currie Cup winners

Cape Town - South Africa's premier domestic rugby tournament dates back some 129 years to 1889 - the year in which the South African Rugby Board was founded.

In that maiden season only four teams took part - Western Province, Griqualand West, Transvaal and Eastern Province.

Fast forward 129 years and seven teams took part in this year's Currie Cup tournament which will culminate on Saturday at Newlands in Cape Town when Western Province host the Sharks.

Kick-off is at 16:00.
