Rhule back at wing for Cheetahs

Cape Town - Free State Cheetahs coach Franco Smith has named his team for Saturday’s Currie Cup clash against Griquas in Bloemfontein (14:00 kick-off).

Smith has made a few changes to the team that thumped the Pumas 52-10 in Nelspruit last weekend.

Raymond Rhule is back at left wing, with Rayno Benjamin moving to right wing in place of Sergeal Petersen.

Henco Venter replaces Paul Schoeman at flank, while Ox Nche comes in for Charles Marais at loosehead prop.

New players on the bench are Torsten Van Jaarsveld (hooker), Marais (prop), Willem Serfontein (lock) and William Small-Smith (utility back).

The unbeaten Cheetahs are currently top of the standings and already assured of top spot ahead of the playoffs.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
