Cape Town - Griquas prop Steph Roberts will equal the record for the most matches played for the union when they host the Golden Lions in a Currie Cup Premier Division clash on Saturday (14:10 kick-off).
Robert will play his 161st match for Griquas, equalling the record held by Andre van Wyk between 1984 and 1995.
Roberts will also extend his own Currie Cup record to 84 Currie Cup matches for the men from Kimberley.
It should serve as extra motivation for the hosts, whose last victory against the Lions was in Kimberley in 2012.
