Lions ring changes for Boland clash

Cape Town - Golden Lions coach Johan Ackermann has named his team for Friday’s Currie Cup Premier Division clash against Boland Cavaliers in Johannesburg.

Kick-off at Ellis Park is scheduled for 17:00.

Ackermann made several changes to the team that went down 30-24 to Griquas in Kimberley last weekend.

In the backline, Andries Coetzee replaces the injured Sylvian Mahuza at fullback, while Selom Gavor replaces Courtnall Skosan at right wing, Jacques Nel comes in for Stokkies Hanekom at outside centre, Marnitz Boshoff replaces Jaco van der Walt at flyhalf and Dillon Smit starts at scrumhalf in place of Ross Cronje.

Up front, Ruaan Ackermann moves from No 8 to lock, replacing Luvuyiso ‘MB’ Lusaseni, as Ruaan Lerm takes Ackermann’s place at No 8.

Victor Sekekete replaces Cyle Brink at No 7 flank, Martin Muller replaces Lourens Erasmus at No 5 lock, while there is also a new front row in the form of props Pieter Scholtz and Corne Fourie and hooker Ramone Samuels.

They replace Jacques van Rooyen, Dylan Smith and Armand ‘Akker’ van der Merwe respectively.
