Lions opt for co-captains

Cape Town - The Golden Lions have opted for co-captains during this year’s Currie Cup Premier Division.

Scrumhalf Ross Cronje and centre Howard Mnisi will share the captaincy duties during this year’s event, the defending champions announced on Thursday.

Coach Johan Ackermann also named his team for Saturday’s clash against the Pumas in Johannesburg (15:00 kick-off).

Nine members are away on Springbok duty, while a few seniors will have a well-deserved rest.

The side taking on the Pumas is blend of seniors and young stalwarts who performed well in the Currie Cup Qualifying round.
