Lewies remains sidelined for Sharks

Cape Town - The Sharks, top of the Currie Cup standings after four straight wins, are still without the experience of lock Stephan Lewies for Saturday's clash against Western Province at Newlands.

Lewies is still recovering from the hamstring strain that kept him out of last weekend's 26-19 win over the Blue Bulls in Durban.

The good news for the Durbanites is that scrumhalf Michael Claassens has returned to training following a spell on the sidelines with a knee ligament sprain.

Prop Dale Chadwick, meanwhile, will undergo a late fitness test as he looks to bounce back from a hamstring niggle.

The Sharks are currently five points ahead of the Free State Cheetahs, the only other unbeaten side in the competition, though they have played an extra game.

Western Province, meanwhile, have had a tougher time and have just registered a single win from three outings this season.
