Kirsten blow for Bulls

Cape Town - The Blue Bulls have reported one new injury following their 26-19 Currie Cup loss to the Sharks in Durban.

Team doctor Herman Rossouw confirmed that flank Jannes Kirsten injured his AC (shoulder) joint in the clash at Kings Park.

Kirsten will be sidelined for between two and three weeks.

Meanwhile, prop John-Roy Jenkinson has made a full recovery from bicep surgery and has returned to training, while prop Neethling Fouche has also made a return to training after recovering from a fractured hand.

Centre Jade Stighling was making steady progress with his recovery from an ankle injury, but remains unlikely to return to action before the start of the playoffs.

Lock Jason Jenkins should be back in action in two weeks’ time, Rossouw said.

There was bad news for utility back Dan Kriel, who will be out for the rest of season after undergoing shoulder surgery.

The Bulls host the Golden Lions at Loftus Versfeld this Friday (19:00 kick-off).
