Cape Town - The Golden Lions were crowned Under-19 champions when they overpowered Western Province 60-19 in Saturday's tournament final in Bloemfontein.
In the end it was eight tries to three, and the difference in quality between the two sides could be seen throughout.
Wing Madosha Tambwe scored a hat-trick for the Lions, who quickly made life difficult for WP by speeding to a 27-0 lead inside the opening half hour through three converted tries and a couple of penalties.
The Lions had gone into the break with a 34-7 lead.
The U-21 final was taking place on Saturday afternoon - also between WP and the Golden Lions.
