Dobson eager to give Du Preez a run

Cape Town - Western Province coach John Dobson is eager to see the return to action of flyhalf Robert du Preez.

After a long injury layoff, Du Preez has been included on the Cape side's bench for Saturday’s Currie Cup clash against the Sharks at Newlands.

Damian Willemse remains the WP starting flyhalf, but Du Preez is expected to get game time in the second half against the Durbanites.

“I’m eager to get Rob on the field. It will be unfair to ask Damian Willemse to play 80 minutes every week,” Dobson told Netwerk24.

“Rob is a very good goal-kicker and could be a trump card if the match is on a knife’s edge. Besides, he has a good record in games against his dad.”

Robert du Preez senior is the head coach of the Sharks.

Saturday’s clash at Newlands is scheduled for 15:00.
