Cheetahs suffer injury setback

Johannesburg - Cheetahs wing Sergeal Petersen has been ruled out of his team's next three Currie Cup games after picking up a knee injury.

Petersen sustained the injury during their opening Currie Cup match against the Boland Cavaliers in Wellington last Saturday.

A scan on his knee has shown a grade two tear to his knee ligament which means the injury is worse than what was initially believed.

If all goes according to plan Petersen will be back for the final four games against the Sharks, Golden Lions, Pumas and Griquas.

"Luckily the injury happened early in the competition so there is enough time to recover. I'm not frustrated because now my body gets a chance to rest," Petersen told Netwerk24.
