Johannesburg - Another racist crowd incident has played out of Ellis Park, this time after Saturday's Currie Cup clash between the Golden Lions and Sharks.
According to the TimesLive website, a scuffle broke out between a white man and a black woman after the man had allegedly placed his hands on her.
The website posted a video of the incident, and during the scuffle racist comments can be clearly heard.
A witness to the incident said he heard the man say to the woman‚ “shut the f*** up you black k****r”.
The Lions have condemned the incident, with stadium manager Mike Erasmus confirming that an investigation had been laucnhed.
"Ellis Park Stadium (Pty) Ltd as well as the Lions Rugby company will never condone this type of behaviour and take strong exception to this," he said.
"We will do anything possible to get to the bottom of this unacceptable behaviour. We have started an investigation."
The incident follows one from 2015, where a concerned fan told his story of a race-fuelled exchange that he witnessed at a Rugby Championship clash between the Springboks and All Blacks, also at Ellis Park.
