WP's Ntubeni raring to go

Cape Town - Western Province hooker Scarra Ntubeni is fit an raring to go ahead of their Currie Cup encounter against Griquas at Newlands on Saturday.

Ntubeni made his return from injury last week when he replaced Stephan Coetzee in their 35-33 loss to the Golden Lions in Johannesburg.

Coetzee injured his ankle in the clash at Ellis Park and will be given until Wednesday to prove his fitness ahead of Thursday’s team announcement.

This could pave the way for Ntubeni to start against the men from Kimberley.

"I'm 100% fit and looking forward to getting more game time this week, should I get the opportunity," Ntubeni told WP's official Facebook page on Tuesday.

"The medical staff held me back to ensure that I would be 100% ready for my return and it helped when I got more game time than I thought against the Lions.

"The result aside, it was great being out there again and we're determined to put things right on Saturday against Griquas."

Kick-off for Saturday's clash at Newlands is scheduled for 15:00.
