Jantjies could return for Bulls

Pretoria - Although a few players will not train until Wednesday, Blue Bulls coach Pine Pienaar should have flyhalf Tony Jantjies and wing Travis Ismaiel available for selection for Saturday's Currie Cup clash against Western Province at Loftus Versfeld.

Jantjies (hip) and Ismaiel (knee) will train on Wednesday and could be named in the squad to play the defending champions.

Centre Francois Venter (foot) and utility back Clayton Blommetjies (ankle) will train on Tuesday, but prop Morné Mellett will only be ready to resume training next week.

Basil Short (knee, 4 months), Francois Hougaard (ankle, 5 months), Cornell Hess (knee, 6 weeks), Deon Stegmann (shoulder, 5 months), Arno Botha (knee, 2 months), Pierre Spies (bicep, 3 months), Louis Fouché (knee, 4 months), Jean Cook (thumb, 3 weeks) and Callie Visagie (ankle, 4 weeks) remain long-term casualties.

The Bulls got their season back on track with an impressive 26-10 over the Free State Cheetahs on Saturday.

The Blue Bulls v WP clash kicks off at 17:05 on Saturday.
