Stegmann blow for Blue Bulls

Pretoria - The Blue Bulls have lost loose forward Deon Stegmann for the remainder of the Absa Currie Cup season.

According to the Blue Bulls website, Stegmann broke his arm while playing against Western Province in Cape Town last Saturday and will be out of action for at least two months.

The news was confirmed by Blue Bulls team doctor Org Strauss on Tuesday.

“Deon broke the same arm that was injured during the Super Rugby season,” Strauss said.

The injury means that coach Pine Pienaar will again have to make changes to his loose trio ahead of Saturday’s Currie Cup match against the Golden Lions at Loftus Versfeld. Kick-off is at 17:05.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
