Smit blow for Blue Bulls

Pretoria - Blue Bulls flank Roelof Smit will miss Friday night's Currie Cup clash against the Sharks due to a wrist injury.

He sustained the injury in last weekend’s 29-14 loss to Western Province at Newlands.

Lock Jacques du Plessis did not train on Monday either due to a hip contusion, but will be back on Tuesday.

The Bulls also have utility back Duncan Matthews (hamstring) back as well as prop Justin Forwood (ribs).

Ettienne Swanepoel (back) will be back in two weeks and Neetlingh Fouche (ankle) in one week.

Irne Herbst, Piet van Zyl, Callie Visagie, Morne Mellett, Nick de Jager and Dennis Visser will only play next year, team doctor Org Strauss confirmed.

Friday’s clash against the Sharks at Kings Park is scheduled for 20:00.
