Cape Town - If any doubts exist about Fijian Sireli Naqelevuki's abilities to play in the number 13 Stormers jersey next season he has the opportunity of dispelling those doubts in Saturday's Currie Cup rugby match against the Lions at Newlands.

Naqelevuki will be squaring up against the Lions' Springbok centre Jaque Fourie in midfield.

Fourie has been plagued by injuries this year, but his performance in the Lions' defeat against the Sharks once again underlined his class.

With a bonus point for four tries a non-negotiable for WP, Fourie's presence is a potential thorn in Province's flesh.

“I know Jaque from my involvement with the Springboks and he is an outstanding organiser. Unless you experience it for yourself, you wouldn't realise it,” said WP coach Allister Coetzee.

“His ability to organise and communicate makes defending so much easier.”

Naqelevuki has been blamed by critics for knocking the ball on when it looked like an easy try during the first half of the weekend's game against Boland.

But the players were called back for a lineout and the "try" would not have been rewarded anyway.

Nonetheless, Naqelevuki scored two tries against the Cavaliers. His performance was also of critical importance in WP's 30-18 win over Griquas.

He has the ability to draw defenders because of his big body, which is why Fourie himself can't expect a picnic on Saturday.
