Cape Town - The Blue Bulls will have a simple blueprint when they tackle Western Province in the Currie Cup semi-finals at Newlands on Saturday.
Their main aim would be to dominate up front in order to starve dangerous backs like Cheslin Kolbe, Juan de Jongh and Seabelo Senatla if attacking opportunities.
The Bulls made the mistake earlier in the season when they allowed WP to dominate them in the contact situations, which gave the hosts opportunities to counter with their dangerous backs. WP ran out 41-17 victors at Newlands and also won the return leg 23-18 at Loftus Versfeld a few weeks later.
Bulls captain, Deon Stegmann, said the battle between the respective forward packs will be key on Saturday.
"It will play a big role. The team whose pack dominates will in all likelihood be the team which emerges victorious," he told Beeld.
"It is one of our strengths, but WP's pack is also good this year. As always, it will be hard as nails."
Kick-off for Saturday's clash is scheduled for 17:00.
