Sharks drop Botes

Cape Town - Willem Alberts and Louis Ludik have both overcome injury niggles to join the Bok trio of Ryan Kankowski, Tendai “Beast” Mtawarira and Bismarck du Plessis in the Sharks’ starting line-up to face the log-leading Western Province at the Absa Stadium on Saturday night.

Alberts has been battling with a leg injury after taking a knock against the Leopards last weekend, while Ludik has been suffering from a quad injury, but both came through fitness tests on Thursday morning.

Ludik’s availability means there is only one change to the backline as Rory Kockott makes way for Charl McLeod, while Alberts shifts to flank where he partners the in-form Keegan Daniel, with Ryan Kankowski having also overcome an injury to start at No 8.

Steven Sykes is reinstated to the second row alongside Alistair Hargreaves with Ross Skeate moving to the bench, while there is a complete re-shuffle up front as Mtawarira and Du Plessis scrum down alongside Wiehahn Herbst.

It should certainly be an enthralling top-of-the table clash between the best defensive side in the competition going up against the most impressive attacking unit in the Sharks.
