Cape Town - The Sharks received a big blow with the news that eightman Ryan Kankowski has been ruled out of action for at least four weeks.
Kankowski broke his thumb during the Sharks’ loss to the Golden Lions in Johannesburg on Saturday.
"It's a big blow for us," Sharks coach John Plumtree told SAPA.
The Sharks have tough couple of weeks ahead, and Kankowski's loss could prove vital to their cause.
They face the Blue Bulls at Loftus Versfeld this weekend, while a tough trip to Bloemfontein against the Cheetahs awaits on September 17.
In other injury news, captain Keegan Daniel rolled his ankle at training on Tuesday, but it is expected to be ready to face the Bulls on Saturday.
