Sadie ready for selection

Johannesburg - Loose forward Arno Botha will miss this week's Currie Cup clash against the Free State Cheetahs due to a hamstring injury, but midfielder Johann Sadie will be fit for selection, the Blue Bulls management announced on Monday.

According to Bulls team doctor Org Strauss, Botha picked up a hamstring strain against Griquas on Friday night, where the Bulls were made to work for their 35-20 come-from-behind victory and will be out of action for at least ten days.

Sadie was out of action for almost two months following an ankle injury sustained during the Bulls' Super Rugby campaign, but has fully recovered and if selected, could make his Currie Cup debut for the Blue Bulls.

Dewald Potgieter, Jurgen Visser and Werner Kruger sat out of training on Monday morning, but will be back on the field on Tuesday.

"They all have bumps and bruises following the match against Griquas, but will be training again on Tuesday," Strauss said.

Meanwhile, Fudge Mabeta (8 weeks), Bjorn Basson (5 weeks) and Bongi Mbonambi (3 weeks) are on the long-term injury list.
