Sadie ready for selection

2012-08-13 12:30

Johannesburg - Loose forward Arno Botha will miss this week's Currie Cup clash against the Free State Cheetahs due to a hamstring injury, but midfielder Johann Sadie will be fit for selection, the Blue Bulls management announced on Monday.

According to Bulls team doctor Org Strauss, Botha picked up a hamstring strain against Griquas on Friday night, where the Bulls were made to work for their 35-20 come-from-behind victory and will be out of action for at least ten days.

Sadie was out of action for almost two months following an ankle injury sustained during the Bulls' Super Rugby campaign, but has fully recovered and if selected, could make his Currie Cup debut for the Blue Bulls.

Dewald Potgieter, Jurgen Visser and Werner Kruger sat out of training on Monday morning, but will be back on the field on Tuesday.

"They all have bumps and bruises following the match against Griquas, but will be training again on Tuesday," Strauss said.

Meanwhile, Fudge Mabeta (8 weeks), Bjorn Basson (5 weeks) and Bongi Mbonambi (3 weeks) are on the long-term injury list.

I only see him making the bench. Venter and Serfontein should start with Beyers moving to fullback.

Agree, we don't need him. Send him packing.

Maybe he can sommer play for them. That'll improve our chances enormously.

@ Spyker I do apologize for my rude behavior earlier and my lack of feelings, as I do understand that people from up north do want to look like the Aussie and Red Neck American’s. But on a more serious not you are probably also correct when stating about the lack of cups in the WP trophy cabinet, and I don’t think it is going to change until there is a mind and operational change at WP. What I mean by this is that we most definitely have the players, as you guys are testament to this as you keep buying them, and they players probably want to go as nobody wants to stay at a union that is run by a group of incompetent imbeciles only out for personal gain and to hell with the history of this once proud and mighty union. We never used to have the best tight five or defense, but we could always dazzle with our skill out wide, but then we decided to get a defensive coach and let all the other skills go to pot. My question is to all the WP supporters out there...... HOW DO WE GET OUR UNION BACK, AND HOW DO WE GET RID OF THE RUBBISH THAT IS RUNNING WP RUGBY?

You will have to wait for them to go on pension, since none of them are going anywhere.

@ Spyker - The "11 years no cup" apart from it being old, is also not true. 2 cups in the last 2 years for the Stormers (Conference Cup) and the Vodacom Cup 2012. But in saying that I do not have much hope as a WP or Stormers supporter for any more Cups to be added to the trophy cabinet this year. Not easy to admit but on current form I do see the Bulls and Sharks fighting it out in the final for the Currie Cup.

      spyker.oflanagan - 2012-08-13 15:27

I'm talking about real cups. Not troospryse.

      spyker.oflanagan - 2012-08-13 15:51

Apologies Sakkie, I forgot for a moment that the Sharks and Bulls have higher standards and only aim for the 2 bigger trophies.

      blou.johnny - 2012-08-13 15:59

...zero Super cups... ...zero Currie cups... ......11 years.... ...facts......

@blou Johnny Weer eens verkeerd. Dit is die "Super Rugby Conference Cup". So kry assebleif 'n beter gesegde as jy ons WP ondersteneurs probeer tart.

Foefol.
