Potgieter out for the season

Pretoria - Blue Bulls flank Dewald Potgieter will not play in the remainder of the Currie Cup competition after injuring his ankle.

The Bulls said in a statement on Tuesday that Potgieter's injury was "quite serious" and he would not be able to complete the season.

"Potgieter has shown fine form during the Currie Cup and his absence will be felt by the Bulls, still in a desperate race to qualify for the semi-finals of the Currie Cup," the Pretoria-based union said.

The Bulls received some good news, however, with openside flank Deon Stegmann expected to be available for selection next week, along with Akona Ndungane, who was also recovering well from injury.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
