Cape Town - After their upset win over the Golden Lions over the weekend, Blue Bulls coach Pine Pienaar says they won't look further than their next game against the Pumas on Friday.
After victory over the Lions, Pienaar's charges look to have turned their season around and semi-final qualification now suddenly looks a a much more comfortable feat.
Despite still trailing Western Province by four log points, the men from Pretoria have a much easier ride to the playoffs than their Cape rivals. They play the Pumas (home), Griquas (away) and the Leopards (home) in their last three games while Province face tough away trips against the Sharks and the Lions before facing the Pumas in their last round-robin game.
However, coach Pienaar will hear none of the so-called easy run-in.
"We know there are no easy games in the Currie Cup competition," Pienaar told the Beeld newspaper.
"The Pumas gave us a fright in Nelspruit (earlier in the competition) and we only scraped through by 16-12. The Pumas also played well against the Leopards and beat Griquas in an away game.
"If we want to remain standing in the competition we cannot afford to look further than the Pumas. We have to win.
"We're now running our own race and aren't looking at other teams," said Pienaar.
The Bulls' game against the Pumas at Loftus Verfeld kicks off at 19h10 on Friday evening.
