Pretoria - The Blue Bulls have announced the signing of several key players for at least the next two seasons.
Top of the list is 33-Test capped lock Flip van der Merwe, who signed on until October 31, 2015.
Former Junior World Cup winning centre, William Small-Smith, also extended his stay until 2015 and highly rated prop Morné Mellett will be playing his rugby in Pretoria until 2016.
Currie Cup stalwarts Rudy Paige (2016) and Jurgen Visser (2015) also signed on, while Blue Bulls Under-21 players Poerie van Rooyen and Nardus van der Walt signed until 2015.
Commenting on these signings, Blue Bulls High Performance Manager, Xander Janse van Rensburg, expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the players that will be staying at Loftus Versfeld.
“All of the players have been identified to play particular roles in our vision and future planning, so it is very pleasing that they all agreed to stay on. We have not changed our vision to remain a leading franchise in domestic and world rugby and remain committed to be a team of choice for some of the best players in the world.”
The Bulls' season came to an end last week when they failed to reach the Currie Cup semi-finals after losing 22-7 to Free State in Bloemfontein.
