Lions change one for Griquas

2010-07-22 15:30

Johannesburg - Xerox Lions coach John Mitchell has made only one change to the starting side that lost 32-0 to Western Province, for Saturday's Absa Currie Cup rugby match against GWK Griquas in Kimberley.

Good to see the chopping and changing under Dick Muir has come to an end now that John Mitchell is the coach. But I still think we are going to lose this one.

@ Walter, we may be surprised. Despite the pack sale they received from WP I am of the opinion that the Lions are improving and there is light at the end of the tunnel. To beat GWK in Kimberley is a tall order but achievable. Good luck to the Lions and GWK. Blou Bul Groete!

For the sake of Springbok rygby I really hope the Lions can turn a corner and start producing results. It's sad, even for a WP supporter like myself, to see the turmoil the union has been in for a number of years now. It's not like they can't produce great players (and of course here I have to admit to serious poaching from WP as well) they just need to find a way to hold on their talent. Good luck Lions, but I think it's going to be tough against the Griquas.
