Le Roux to miss WP clash

Cape Town - Griquas fullback Willie le Roux will miss their Currie Cup clash against Western Province due to a suspension.

Volksblad reports that Le Roux received a one-week suspension on Tuesday night after a dangerous tackle on Blue Bulls fullback Jürgen Visser last week.

Griquas lost their first Currie Cup game of the season 35-20 to the Bulls in Pretoria, and this week are at home to a WP side which showed some flaws in losing to the Sharks at home last week.

But they are sure to miss Le Roux's presence on Saturday, with the 22-year-old having a good season to date after a successful Super Rugby season with the Cheetahs.

Coach Pote Human said Le Roux's suspension is unfortunate.

"It's disappointing that Willie's been suspended. It was his first offence. We take the punishment and must now focus on the match that awaits."

Regular flyhalf Francois Brummer will shift to fullback with Marnitz Boshoff taking the No 10 jersey.

The clash in Kimberley kicks off at 14:30 on Saturday.
