Kolisi, De Jongh return for WP

2012-08-22 14:24

Cape Town - Western Province head coach Allister Coetzee has named his team for Saturday's Currie Cup meeting with the Golden Lions in Johannesburg. Kick-off is at 17:05

Springbok squad members Siya Kolisi (flank) and Juan de Jongh (centre) make a return, with Coetzee making just two changes to the starting line-up that beat Griquas 25-20 last weekend; Jebb Sinclair and JP du Plessis moving to the bench, with Yaya Hartzenberg and Damian de Allende dropping out of the squad.

De Jongh also takes over the vice-captaincy from Marcel Brache, who remains at inside centre, whilst left-wing Ederies Arendse was passed fit after suffering an ankle injury against Griquas.

Deon Fourie will again captain the side from hooker, with Siyabonga 'Scarra' Ntubeni warming the bench after his impressive second-half appearance last weekend.

Joining Ntubeni on the bench is experienced scrumhalf Dewaldt Duvenage who is back from his week's break and replaces Nic Groom amongst the replacements, with Louis Schreuder getting his second start in a row.

I THINK THIS IS FOR THE BEST,THESE TWO PLAYERS DOESNT FIT IN THE SLOW AND BORING RUGBY HEINEKE WANTS THE BOKS TO PLAY.FOR THE FIRST TIME AS A BOK SUPPORTER I SWITCHED FROM OUR GAME TO THE SOCCER ON SS-3 TO THE PROTEAS ON SS-2.I THINK I 'M GOING TO FOLLOW THE CURRIECUP,MUCH BETTER VIEWING CAUSE THE RUGBY IS ON A HIGHER STANDARD.

Good thinking Wayne , then maybe between CC games you can try figure out where the button is for lower case !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      pierrefrewd.juice - 2012-08-22 14:52

sure wayne. you are a rugby guru. i mean, whos heineke meyer, cant compete with your obvious superior knowledge of the game.

To be honest the Stormers and WP have been trying to play Bulls rugby for a while now, when last did they score 4 tries in a match? (2011) WP need a few trainers like Carel Du Plessis or Danie Gerber to show the back line how to score tries.

Wayne jou idioot!!! Die artiekel is oor WP nie die SB nie!!!

GO LIONS!! With everything that is happening, you must still defend your Currie Cup title :) Keep the cup in JHB :)

Kolisi and De Jongh will never feature in Boks coach's plans he is more biased to white young players, and I don't apologize for this comment. My fellow commentators please tell me I'm wrong.kolisi and Jantjies is my examples for this statements.

      cape.maori - 2012-08-22 16:11

No need to apologise - you are 100% correct! These other bloggers will call you a racist, but the truth hurts. As I said previously on this blog, there are gate keepers in SA rugby, which is preserved for the white minority! Finish en klaar!

      pierrefrewd.juice - 2012-08-22 16:17

kolisi will be a bok, jantjies make critical mistakes at critical times, wont play him until his game is sorted. but you play the race card, it makes you feel better. shame.

      cape.maori - 2012-08-22 16:38

@Pierre - you guys always find reasons to justify the exclusion of certain players! shame

      pieter.vanniekerk.188 - 2012-08-22 16:45

Every blogger (white, black, green, yellow, purple or whatever the color of the skin may be) praise Kolisi for being a brilliant player and would like to see him in the team. HM did not select him because he regards him as not good enough at the moment. All of us disagree with HM selections (the WP supporters want more WP players, the Shark supporters want more Shark players etc.), but accept that his selections are based on his opinion of players and NOT based on the race of the player. As far as De Jong is concerned, he is good, but just not good enough at this moment. Jantjes: He is the number 3 in his position with Steyn and Lambie the better players. However he will develop and when the time is right, he will be the #1 Cape Maori make the statement: “These other bloggers will call you a racist…” At long last I agree with Cape Maroni (his first intelligent remark in 10 years). Of course you are a racist. And apparently you also have a huge chip on the shoulder. WP greetings

Gaan poef in die poefter parra

      cape.maori - 2012-08-22 16:51

@Pieter - do you really believe the drivel you just posted! If so, I believe that ET infected the accused with hiv.

Always felt that Schreuder offered more than Duvies. Feel sorry for JP as he looked in good nick. As for the issue of Kolisi. he offers more than the wild boy Potgieter in the Bok setup. and I dont believe that Engelbrecht is better than either Delport(Sharks) and De Jongh. Just hope Coleman gets a run as well. Far better distributor than Van aswegen and Caterikillis

  • sinesipho.diko - 2012-08-22 17:35

I'm really starting not to like this Heyn...Meyer character, seriously.

  • keithronald.wildschut - 2012-08-22 19:37

Pietervanniekerk you can call me a racist I don't care. The facts speaks for itself.CJ Stander is leaving the country-the question is why. Let me answer for you.Stander,Kolisi and Coetzee were the three best loosies in the S15 before Stander got injured.Meyer rather opted for Potgieter who was injured,Alberts who came from an injury and Kankowski who also came from an injury. If you watch the S15 Robert Ebersohn was/is one of the best n.13 but he rather opted for Olivier and Engelbrecht. This racist played rugby and knows something about this game.We can continue to make comparisons but I'll spare your small brain the trauma.

      Stormkaap - 2012-08-22 20:47

But Ronald, how is choosing Potgieter above CJ racist or for that matter Spies. Or for that matter JDV/Olivier above Ebersohn. Yes, Olivier above De Jongh or Potgieter and Spies Kolisi. I would rather look at Delport and De Jongh above Engelbrecht, who is poor defensively.
