Kirsten ready for Sharks

Pretoria - Prop Frik Kirsten has been declared fit for the Blue Bulls' Currie Cup clash against the Sharks at Loftus Versfeld on Friday.

Kirsten has recovered from a knee strain that ruled him out of the match against Griquas at the weekend.

Francois Venter and Jacques du Plessis will miss training on Monday, but will be back on the field by Tuesday and will be considered for selection.

Jean Cook (thumb) will have X-rays later on Monday to determine his availability, while Courtnall Skosan (quad, two weeks) is also recovering well.

The long term injury list is:

Basil Short (knee, four months), Francois Hougaard (ankle, four months), Cornell Hess (knee, four weeks), Deon Stegmann (shoulder, four months), Arno Botha (knee, two months), Pierre Spies (bicep, three months), Louis Fouch (knee, three months), Morné Mellett (neck, five weeks) and Callie Visagie (ankle, eight weeks)
