Kankowski cited for stamp

Durban - Sharks No 8 Ryan Kankowski will attend a SARU judicial committee on Wednesday at 12:00 after being cited for foul play during the Currie Cup game against the Lions on Saturday.

Kankowski was cited under Law 10.4 (b) for stamping an opponent.

The Sharks loose forward used his right foot in a stamping action on the body (stomach area) of Lions flank Trevor Hall during the 75th minute of the game.

The Lions defeated the Sharks 22-20.

Referee Jason Jaftha issued Kankowski a yellow card after the incident was flagged by the assistant referee Christie du Preez who recommended a 10 minute sanction.
