Griquas name side for Bloem

Kimberley - Griquas have left their victorious team intact for what will almost certainly be their last Currie Cup match of the season against the Free State Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

After his side beat the Blue Bulls 48-44 in a thrilling encounter in Kimberley at the weekend, Griquas coach Abre Minnie chose not to tamper with his winning outfit.

"The team has been successful against the Bulls and with nobody injured there was no reason to make any changes," Minnie said on Wednesday.

"Of course we also want to keep that winning momentum.

"It is nice to have the same squad available for two consecutive games."

Griquas, sixth in the standings, need a bonus-point victory to have any chance of reaching the playoffs.

Even if they win, they will rely on other results to progress.

The Bulls and Western Province must lose against minnows the Leopards and the Pumas respectively for Griquas to reach the semi-finals.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
