Griquas' Boshoff in hot water

Cape Town - Griquas winger Jannie Boshoff will appear before a SARU Judicial Officer after he was cited for a dangerous tackle during their 42-3 loss to the Sharks in Durban over the weekend.

The hearing, administered by Adv Jannie Lubbe, will take place in Bloemfontein on Tuesday at 18:00.

Boshoff was cited by citing officer Deker Govender after his side's final Currie Cup game of the season.

He allegedly breached of Law 10(4) (J), which states: “Lifting a player from the ground and dropping or driving that player into the ground whilst that player’s feet are still off the ground such that the player’s head and/or upper body come into contact with the ground first is dangerous”.

Griquas finished fifth on the Currie Cup log to escape the dreaded promotion-relegation playoffs.
