FS change three for Sharks

Cape Town - Free State Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské has made three changes to his starting line-up ahead of their Currie Cup clash against the Sharks in Durban on Saturday.

Sias Ebersohn is back at flyhalf in place of Johan Goosen, who was called up to the Springbok squad on Wednesday, while Nico Scheepers comes in at right wing with Rayno Benjamin shifting down to the bench.

Up front the only change sees loosehead prop Schalk van der Merwe elevated to the starting XV in place of Trevor Nyakane, who broke his thumb in last week's 29-16 win over Griquas in Kimberley. The promising Nyakane is likely to be out of action for between six and eight weeks.

Ross Geldenhuys comes onto the bench to cover at prop, while utility forward Waltie Vermeulen replaces Francois Uys on the bench after Uys was suspended for two weeks for striking an opponent with the head. He will miss the Sharks clash as well as their home game against Western Province the following week.

Philip Snyman also comes in on the bench as a utility back.

The Free Staters are currently in third spot on the overall log, only trailing the second placed Sharks on points difference.

The clash at Kings Park kicks off at 17:05 on Saturday.
