Concussion rules out Ludik

Durban - Louis Ludik has failed to come through a concussion test and has been ruled out of the Sharks' match against Griquas at the Absa Stadium on Friday night, with Monty Dumond replacing him at fullback.

In other big news, former Springbok flyhalf Andre Pretorius is set to make his Sharks debut off the bench after having undergone extensive rehabilitation for an injury over the last few weeks.

Dumond replaced Ludik at fullback last weekend when the latter suffered a sickening blow to the head and had to be stretchered from the field during the Sharks' match against Western Province.

Although Ludik has responded well this week, he failed to come through a final fitness test on Thursday and it has been decided not to risk him.

There are no other changes to the backline, with Andries Strauss having overcome a shoulder injury to retain his spot at inside centre.

Among the forwards, there is only a re-shuffle in the loose-trio, with the loss of Ryan Kankowski to the Boks resulting in Keegan Daniel coming into the No 8 jersey, with Willem Alberts and Jacques Botes named as the flanks.

Anton Bresler will provide second row cover from the bench after Ross Skeate suffered a groin injury during a gym session during the week, while Mike Rhodes can cover both lock and loose-forward.

The Sharks:

Monty Dumond, Odwa Ndungane, Stefan Terblanche (Captain), Andries Strauss, Lwazi Mvovo, Patrick Lambie, Charl McLeod, Keegan Daniel, Willem Alberts, Jacques Botes, Alistair Hargreaves, Steven Sykes, Wiehahn Herbst, Bismarck du Plessis, Tendai Mtawarira

Replacements: Craig Burden, Eugene van Staden, Anton Bresler, Michael Rhodes, Rory Kockott, Andre Pretorius, Riaan Swanepoel
