Cape Town - Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské says they will aim to dismantle the Sharks' scrum - an area the Durbanites struggled with against the Pumas in Durban last week.
The Sharks were surprisingly below par in the scrum department against the men from Witbank and it nearly cost them. The Pumas at one stage led by 17-7 and also 20-14 before the Sharks came back to claim a 33-20 victory.
And according to the Volksblad newspaper, Drotské has taken due note of what happened with the Sharks at Kings Park as he prepares his charges for their crucial Currie Cup clash in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
"We will always try and take on other teams in the scrums.
"It was actually strange for me to see how the Sharks struggled in the scrums. They have scrummed well the whole season, but there were one or two scrums where the Pumas definitely had their number.
"We will definitely take the Sharks on in the scrums," said Drotské.
And the coach believes the versatile Coenie Oosthuizen is just the man to trouble the KwaZulu-Natalians up front.
Oosthuizen has recently successfully made the switch from tighthead prop to loosehead. He played tighthead for the first time at senior level against Griquas three weeks ago after WP Nel injured his calf muscle.
Drotské was especially impressed with Oosthuizen's performance again the Blue Bulls over the weekend. "It was Coenie's first real test at tighthead against Dean Greyling from the Bulls - and he showed he is able to stand his ground.
"Dean is an international player and has played for the Springboks. If Coenie carries on like this, his scrummaging will only improve and if he can keep up with his work ethic in the loose, he will become a very good tighthead," said Drotské.
Saturday's game at the Free State Stadium kicks off at 15:00.
