Cape Town - Demetri Catrakilis is likely to start at flyhalf for Western Province when they tackle the Free State Cheetahs in a Currie Cup game in Bloemfontein on Friday.
Catrakilis recently re-joined Western Province from Eastern Province after he left Cape Town to play for the Kings in this year's Super Rugby competition.
He came on as a substitute in WP's 19-13 win over Griquas at a wet Newlands last Friday.
And according to the Cape Times, incumbent flyhalf Kurt Coleman will be rested with Catrakilis drafted into the starting team this week.
Coleman's goal-kicking was again dead-accurate on Friday, but he struggled with his tactical game - an area in which Catrakilis normally flourishes.
WP made the wrong tactical choices against Griquas and often tried to run the ball from every angle on a wet pitch, and were somewhat lucky to escape with a win.
Therefore, the tactically sound Catrakilis could just provide the correct stability in that regard against the Cheetahs.
WP are currently second on the overall Currie Cup log, trailing the Sharks on points difference, while the Cheetahs lie fourth after a humiliating 50-26 loss to the Durbanites over the weekend.
Currie Cup fixtures:
Friday:
Free State Cheetahs v Western Province - 17:05
Golden Lions v Sharks - 19:10
Saturday:
Griquas v Blue Bulls - 14:00
