Catrakilis back in WP fray

2011-10-05 13:11

Cape Town - Allister Coetzee on Wednesday named his team to take on the Lions at Coca-Cola Park on Saturday. Kick-off is at 17:05.

In the first of a number of changes, Conrad Jantjes reclaims the No 15 jersey after Heinrich Steyl was ruled out for the rest of the season last weekend with a broken leg.

Demetri Catrakilis returns from injury and takes over at flyhalf from Lionel Cronje who falls out of the match 22.

Dewaldt Duvenage who still has a toe injury is bracketed with Nick Groom, while Louis Schreuder provides cover off the bench. Should Duvenage not pass a late fitness test, Groom will start with Schreuder on the bench.

Nick Koster returns at the back of the scrum with Nizaam Carr dropping down to the bench.

Coetzee opted for a 5/2 split on the bench with Hilton Lobberts returning from a lay-off and forwards Deon Fourie, Frans Malherbe, Pieter Louw and Nizaam Carr all included along with backs Groom/Schreuder and Johann Sadie.

As a result Tertius Daniller falls out of the match 22.

Cannot believe Fenton well chosen ahead of Carr. Gee whizz I think one of those coaches must be having something going on with Well's sister! I am a firm believer in giving players an opportunity to bed into the side but is bordering on the ridiculous!

      Racism,thats what it is

      BlouBallas - 2011-10-05 13:29

Ek dink WP skop hulle gatte omdat hulle vir Rose laat gaan het. Nou moet hulle sukkel met die Porra.

      GHT - 2011-10-05 13:36

Not much of a Fenton-Wells fan myself because he simply hasen't impressed me, Carr on the other hand is very impressive.

      Makatees - 2011-10-05 13:41

Malema,s bank ballance is also impressive but still means nothing for the rest of us,

      LouisFLY - 2011-10-05 13:47

@blouballas..haha..jou idioot Catrakillis is Grieks nie Portugees nie..dom bloubul.

When will Rohan Kitshoff return from Namibia? He is a real fetcher. Although Carr is impressive he was bumped in a few tackles on Saturday. Carr is a ball carrier and not a fetcher. I think he will add more value from the bench at this stage. Province needs a fetcher. Fenton-Wells isn't great but is okay and the only fetcher currently available. Hopefully Kitshoff will return soon !

      Kaapie - 2011-10-05 19:43

Perhaps you havent watched him that closely. For UCT he has effected many steals and for SA u20 in the WC that is where he excelled. I am not so sure about him being bumped in tackles. Fenton wells has been mediocre and many will not be so generous to reward mediocrity.

This is a VERY STRONG team, I like the presence of Fondse he brought a lot of GRIND to the game last week against the Sharks. What more can I say about the GREEK, he's just AMAZING. I would have prefered Sadie for Brache. Otherwise I'm a HAPPY !!!!!!! WP by 10+ WP groete!!!!!!!

      Fleckie - 2011-10-05 16:40

Hilton is def a beta player than Fondse is, Fondse is weak in contact and often gets the ball ripped from him. He also doesnt make an impact on defence. I'd pick Quinn Roux ova Fondse. Fenton-wells isnt great and Kitsoff would prob b beta. Carr has reali impressed but lets not rush him, 20 mins at the end is good for his development. Thought Sadie would start, the u21 duPlesis reali impressed me in the centres and its good to c Sam Lane playing again. Reali glad Catrikilis is back, I think he should start ahead of Grant come S15 time. PROVINCE
