Bulls receive Stegmann blow

Cape Town - The Blue Bulls could be without the services of their Springbok flank Deon Stegmann after he injured his cheekbone against the Pumas.

According to the Rapport newspaper it looks as though Stegmann might have broken his cheekbone, which will rule him out for a lengthy period.

The Bulls won their Currie Cup encounter 16-12 at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Friday afternoon. The win sees the Pretoria based outfit move up to sixth position on the log, after occupying last spot before the weekend's matches.

Stegmann received a heavy blow to his face in the second half and spent Friday night in hospital.

Bulls coach Pine Pienaar said the injury looks serious.

The Blue Bulls host Griquas at Loftus Versfeld on Friday night in their next Currie Cup clash.
