Cape Town - The Free State Cheetahs have confirmed the signing of Blue Bulls loose forward Jean Cook.
According to the Volksblad website, Bulls loose forward Jean Cook will return to Bloemfontein at the end of the current Currie Cup season.
Cook, schooled at Grey College and part of the SA Schools team in 2009, started out his career with the Cheetahs, where made he made one senior appearance before switching to the Bulls in 2012.
He has signed a one-year deal with the Bloemfontein outfit who are currently third in this year's Currie Cup standings.
Cook's agent, BC du Plessis, confirmed his client's move to the Cheetahs.
"Jean (Cook) is grateful for the opportunities the Bulls gave him," Du Plessis said.
"He is looking forward to his return to Bloemfontein and the new challenges with the Cheetahs.
"He realises the Cheetahs have some exceptional loose forwards, but hopes to make a contribution to the team's success."
Cook is currently sidelined with a broken thumb and is expected to return to action in about four weeks.
The Cheetahs host Griquas in this weekend's Currie Cup matches (Saturday at 15:00), while the Bulls travel to Durban to face the Sharks (Saturday at 17:05).
The weekend's other match sees the Lions welcome defending champions Western Province to Ellis Park on Friday night (kick-off is at 19:10).
