Bulls' Basson fit for WP clash

Pretoria - Wing Bjorn Basson has been declared fit and available for the Blue Bulls and will be considered for selection for their Currie Cup clash against Western Province at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.

Basson missed the start of the competition due to an ankle injury.

Blue Bulls team doctor Org Strauss confirmed the continued unavailability of flyhalf Jacques-Louis Potgieter (ribs) for this weekend, but indicated good progress and the player might return in the next two weeks.

A number of players will miss training on Monday, but will be back on the field Tuesday. They include Jurgen Visser (toe), Ulrich Beyers (concussion), Burger Odendaal (quad), Akona Ndungane (knee), Deon Stegmann (groin) and Paul Willemse (hamstring), however all will be available to face WP.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
