Cape Town - The Blue Bulls will meet Western Province at Loftus in the Currie Cup semi-finals after they beat the Pumas 25-24 at Mbombela Stadium on Friday night.
The Pumas opened the scoring as early as the 3rd minute through Marnus Schoeman after the flank picked the ball up from the base of a ruck and crashed over.
But the Bulls hit back less than 10 minutes later when Deon Stegman finished off a rolling maul after the Bulls had won their own lineout from close range - Tian Schoeman striking the upright with his conversion attempt.
Left wing Jamba Ulengo was next in as the Bulls went 10-7 ahead after 15 minutes.
The scores would remain unchanged until a Schoeman penalty in the final play took the Bulls into a 13-7 half time lead.
A Van Staden penalty narrowed the gap after the break, but the visitors took control of the match when both Stegman and then Ulengo scored their second each of the night.
The Pumas pulled one back through Rosco Specman to make it 25-17, and they scored a late consolation try after the hooter through lock Rudi Mathee to make it a 25-24 final score.
