Blitzbok starts for Griquas against WP

Cape Town - Griquas have named their team to face Western Province in their Currie Cup opener in Kimberley on Friday.

Scrumhalf Tian Meyer captains the team which features Springbok Sevens star Ruhan Nel in midfield.

The outside centre is set to make his debut for Griquas in the Currie Cup after being released by the Blitzbokke to play Currie Cup.

The 24-year-old Nel previously represented the Golden Lions. He has featured on the Sevens World Series circuit for the past two seasons.

Kick-off for Friday’s clash is scheduled for 15:30.
