Battered WP laid low by injuries

Cape Town - Following their embarrassing 62-32 loss to the Golden Lions in Johannesburg at the weekend, Western Province have a number of injury worries.

Wing Kobus van Wyk (hamstring), flank Chris Cloete (calf) and fullback Cheslin Kolbe (bone bruising and a knock to shoulder) are all not available for selection this week, while hooker Scarra Ntubeni (calf) and utility forward Rynhardt Elstadt (quadriceps) remain on the injured list and are also unavailable.

In some good news, scrumhalf Jano Vermaak (groin) and utility back Dillyn Leyds (groin) have recovered and are available again for selection.

WP will play the EP Kings in their last league fixture at Newlands on Friday (18:00 kick-off).

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
