Arendse worry for WP

Cape Town - Western Province look likely to go into their Currie Cup clash against the Golden Lions without the services of wing Ederies Arendse.

Arendse scored a try on his Currie Cup debut against Griquas on Saturday, with his crucial score just before half-time helping WP to fight back from a 12-0 deficit and eventually win 25-20.

But the 22-year-old injured his ankle in the Kimberley clash, which leaves him a doubtful starter for their next match in Johannesburg on Saturday. He will be further assessed on Monday to determine the exact extent of his injury.

In other injury news captain Deon Fourie left the field with a slight ankle injury but he will definitely be fit to face the Lions.

Vice-captain Marcel Brache suffered a cut to his face but he, too, will be fit to face the Lions.

Flank Rynhardt Elstadt (groin) will be re-assessed again on Monday after missing the Sharks and Griquas matches.
