Cape Town - Flyhalf Demetri Catrakilis could leave the Stormers after the conclusion of this year's Super Rugby competition.
It was revealed on Tuesday that the 25-year-old flyhalf has signed a two-year deal with French Top 14 side Montpellier, who are coached by former Springbok coach Jake White.
Catrakilis is contracted to Western Province until the end of 2015, but he could leave them earlier in the year when Super Rugby concludes, Netwerk24 reports.
The French club could pay a transfer fee for Catrakilis to join them after Super Rugby and in time for the new European season, which would see the flyhalf miss WP's defence of their Currie Cup crown.
Catrakilis was the Cape side's hero when they won the title last year, defeating the Golden Lions 19-16 in the final at Newlands.
