Hollywood Boks set to star

Cape Town - If you thought meeting Clint Eastwood during filming for ‘Invictus’ got these guys excited, then you had to bear witness to the kit handover on Wednesday evening as Sport24 Editor and Publisher Tank Lanning and Commercial Manager David Brooke officially launched the Castle Cape Town Tens team, The Hollywood Boks, sponsored by Sport24.

The 'Hollywood Boks', a team made up of those players who starred as the 1995 Springboks in the film ‘Invictus’, will be playing in the more social ‘Beer League’ at this year’s event - and who better than Tank Lanning, who has never been shy in getting acquainted with the sponsor’s product, to hand over the kit that the guys will be wearing throughout the event?

Emotion was running high at False Bay Rugby Club, the venue for the one and only training session the Hollywood Boks have scheduled, with one of the players, Sean Pypers, (James Small in the movie) commenting: “I can’t wait for the event to begin, it’s the real deal when you get handed your kit, I just want the tournament to now start.”

You’ll spot the Hollywood Boks over the weekend by their bright pink golf shirts. Truth be told, you could probably spot them from space, but one thing is for sure, most of the time they’ll be spotted in the beer tent.
