Bulls to discuss Matfield role

Cape Town - Former Springbok lock Victor Matfield looks likely to be appointed as the permanent forwards coach of the Blue Bulls.

According to Beeld, the board of directors of the Blue Bulls Company will hold a meeting on Tuesday where a few internal shifts and appointments will be discussed.

High on the agenda is the appointment of Matfield as the permanent fowards coach for the union's Super Rugby and Currie Cup teams. He is expected to replace Johann van Graan, who joined Heyneke Meyer at the Springboks.

Bulls coach Frans Ludeke is also expected to replace Meyer as the top rugby boss at the union.

The Blue Bulls start their Currie Cup campaign against Griquas at Loftus Verfeld in Pretoria on Friday night.

Kick-off is at 19:10.
