    Awesome-ness!!!

  • Ettiene - 2012-06-20 10:01

      Ettiene - 2012-06-20 10:15

touch wood as daai mannetjies bly by die Bulle dan sien ek uit na onse backline want huidiglik het ons backline geen slaan krag nie.

  • didi.basson - 2012-06-20 10:07

Whats new?

Soos die gesegde gaan: IF you snooze, you loose.

      paul.sdoow - 2012-06-20 10:31

there is still so much talent left we need to let other provinces benefit too. besides its good that young players are noticed no matter by what franchise. and we can thank media too they make school rugby more accessible to the hundreds of scouts , back when i played you had craven week and maybe prg grey and winter day against sacs to prove yourself to the scouts. and one bad game and you blew it now the scouts can watch the entire season and make decisions on that. yes he is a loss yes i have it that he good to the bulls of all the franchises to go to but to him congrats. do the western cape proud

      jack.dewet.7 - 2012-06-20 11:26

      steyts - 2012-06-20 11:43

Rene dis lose, nie loose nie...

      René - 2012-06-20 12:15

@steyts, dit is so, sorry ne!

HAHAHA Rene, slim vang sy baas. http://www.sport24.co.za/Rugby/WP-deny-Pollards-departure-20120620

  • MaakdieBulle - 2012-06-20 10:13

Handre Pollard ,Geluk met jou volwase besluit

  • marcus.daily3 - 2012-06-20 10:13

So this kid benches Tony Janties at The U/20 and will do so at the Bulls as well. Competition is fierce in Rugby these days! Love it!

      lona.vezi - 2012-06-20 11:23

I hate to break it to u SAn franchises especially Bulls have a tendancy of keeping incumbents in key positions. That is also evident in the boks.

  • JJ.Louw - 2012-06-20 10:18

Typical of the (mis)management in Western Province! We will most probably sign him when he is 30 odd after a long career with the Bulls and Boks!!!

  • vanrooyenmara - 2012-06-20 10:25

    Wahahahahahahahahaa..........

  • ruhan.vandermerwe - 2012-06-20 10:26

i wish they would post proper articles, with facts to back-up the trash they are trying to sell, Pollard has not been signed to any province as IRB rules prohibit the contracting of craven week players which Pollard still is and as anyone with a brain knows he is still busy with negotiations

      René - 2012-06-20 10:36

@ruhan, that ruling came after the fact, besides it is not a IRB rule its a SARU rule which was only tabled in June 2012.

      jc.burger.3 - 2012-06-20 11:52

@ René: It's beacuse of this type of dealings that the rules came into existance. The Bulls are masters at this kind of thing. They have so many talented young flyhalves. Why sign another one? Is this to strengthen them, or to prevent other teams to have them?

      René - 2012-06-20 12:23

@jc, I don't really think we are 'sorted' in that position... we were left a bit 'exposed' especially with Lionel Cronje not playing due to injury this year. I don't know why the BB did not give Louis Fouche an opportunity this year, especially with MS struggling. I don't believe the BBRU are so petty to sign a young up and coming talent like Hollard out of spite? I believe the pool needs to expand with proper talent.

  • jacques.duplessis.3785 - 2012-06-20 10:28

Bulls team in a few years,\r\n9.Hougaard\r\n10.Pollard\r\n11.Basson\r\n12.Serfontein\r\n13.Small-smith\r\n14.Engelbrecht\r\n15.Another young western province talent!\r\nYou gotta love province!

      paul.sdoow - 2012-06-20 10:44

yes and hopefully you guys change from that pink colour back to a proper colour cause you would have proper players then!

      paul.sdoow - 2012-06-20 11:16

raven at least the two pivot players 9 and ten. Robertson and paarl. then you also add to the total of prg springbok list with hougi the most springboks more than any other school? so sa majority says most from the cape reach national level with the paarl boys and pl gym also in the top ten springbok list.

      paul.sdoow - 2012-06-20 11:38

uh duh ya and his first franchise wasn't the bulls either? or is he the reason why you guys are backing the lions in two weeks?

      paul.sdoow - 2012-06-20 11:44

sorry jaques how many of those players you mentioned are from transvaal? i sure bet raven will answer that !

      paul.sdoow - 2012-06-20 11:47

but on a lighter note thank goodness super rugby almost back now we can carry on with our provincial banter!

      nick.spangenberg.52 - 2012-06-20 13:14

vaak dogtertjie 3 + the fullback that will be signed as a 13 year old

  • Claude - 2012-06-20 10:30

As I understand it this is precisely the reason that the rules have changed and the immoral poaching of schoolboy talent from another province is not legal any more without full disclosure to the province in which the person resides before the approach is made.

      MaakdieBulle - 2012-06-20 11:05

Welcome to the professional era! a concept that you don't understand

      nick.spangenberg.52 - 2012-06-20 13:18

the bulls scouts hang like paedophiles outside school gates to poach talented youngsters since there's nothing coming from tukkies or their schools

  • antonvw - 2012-06-20 10:35

Pollard bly in WP

      enrico.oosthuizen - 2012-06-20 10:44

      Jy bedoel gelukkig

      actanonverba.daniels - 2012-06-20 11:17

Nee Anton, hy gaan Pretoria toe, SARU se reels het later in plek gekom...belowe

  • paul.ramncwana - 2012-06-20 10:35

This is Bull #$?#*%. Come on WP get your stuff 2gether!!

  • melt.esterhuizen - 2012-06-20 10:35

  • johan.burger.50951 - 2012-06-20 10:39

  • Blanco - 2012-06-20 10:45

Google Timo Swiel that is in the Stormers group then you will undersstand this.

      enrico.oosthuizen - 2012-06-20 10:57

      Stirrer - 2012-06-20 11:04

Thanks Blanco, I just did :D He's AWESOME!!! No wonder Pollard wants to go, he doesn't stand a chance to make the Stormers/WP squad ahead of Swiel. www.greenandgoldrugby.co.za/timo-swiel-present-stormer-future-bok/

Ha ha ha ha!! @jody, goeie kommentaar!

  • andrew.deacon.39 - 2012-06-20 11:01

They should just make WP an official feeder area for the Bulls

why am I not surprised!; WP management asleep once again!

  • Alan Forbes - 2012-06-20 11:18

WP should drop him from the Craven week team and use it to develope someone else. By the way how does the new rule on contracting young players affect this deal as it is questionable when it was really signed?

  • thethird.wors - 2012-06-20 11:20

again. WP come on man! catch a wakeup.

  • Alan Forbes - 2012-06-20 11:21

I have heard that the Queens College flyhalf has also been signed by the Bulls

  • rikus1980 - 2012-06-20 12:13

    best news ever

  • Pieter - 2012-06-20 12:15

Snot Storie!!

GO STORMERS

  • stefan.vanderspuy - 2012-06-20 13:41

Proactive Bulls! Province asleep? Don't you want your own talent, which you are nurturing in your own back yard??

      Provence - 2012-06-20 14:09

This is the WP plan to saturate RSA rugby. Eventually everyone will shout WPPPPPP not matter what province is playing. Is amazing how great the breeding ground in the Cape is.

  • ryan.isaacs.963 - 2012-06-20 13:46

I'm a Stormers supporter but you have to admire the Bulls for spotting talent. WP Management needs to wake up and succure our youngsters and stop waiting till 99 to sign our talent! Wake up WP!! wake up!!!

  • anwar.addinall - 2012-06-20 13:46

Gymmies......good pedigree................good signing. I think they'll have to cut a new copy of "liefling!!!".

  • Provence - 2012-06-20 14:03

What will the bulls do without WP rugby??? WP breeds rugby players, bulls purchase them. Die Bulls bloed het streepe in oppas.

  • cheslin.white.7 - 2012-06-20 17:12

Let the guy play rugby where he wants to. This whole thing about WPRU being AA obsessed is a bit ridiculous.

  • shaun.reece.3 - 2012-06-21 09:11

Typical for the Bulls to get their best players from the Western Cape. Its all good we got plenty of talent to go around cos well we have the best schools obviously.

  • dustin.dewet - 2012-06-21 10:54

Approached by H Meyer as a 16 year old, not surprised he signed with the Bulls. It has taken Meyer a couple of seasons to get the backline he wanted for the Bulls and with Pollard now signed that backline looks complete. Even with Meyer not in charge anymore his vision for Bulls rugby, which will almost certainly be his vision for Springbok rugby, is almost a reality. Whilst at the Bulls Meyer changed the way rugby was played. It was his use of tactical kicking by 9,10 and 15 that changed the way Bok rugby was played. But while the Bokke kept on playing the same style of rugby for 2-3 seasons too long Meyer had already started changing the way Bulls play their rugby which is evident by looking at the amount of tries they have scored in the last couple of seasons. As he has stated on various occasions he wants a big, bruising pack, who in the tight phases can intimidate and neutralise any opposition pack whilst in the loose phases punch holes in the opposition defence. This will then allow his backs to control the rest of the game. And looking at the backs the Bulls now have on their books it looks like an exciting prospect. Imagine a backline made up of F Hougaard, H Pollard, JJ Engelbrecht, J Sadie, F Venter, J Serfontein and W Smal-Smith. Now add to that F Steyn, R Pienaar, JP Pietersen, J Goosen, J Taute, B Habana and P Van Zyl.

  • jacques.ackermann - 2012-06-22 08:41

oh my word give home another 5 years and he will be just like any other blue bulls flyhalf...a boring non creative kicker with no attacking flair or defence to speak off...what a waste of talent...blue bulls where backline talent goes to die
